Benchmarking services

The impact of the Comprehensive Spending Review (CSR07) will be a major spur to all public sector organisations to commit to ICT-enabled transformation of services which in turn will place the ICT service under an even sharper focus. Now in its eighth year, our service will help you improve your contribution to your organisation's performance and its efficiency gains.

From their inception in 1999, the ICT benchmarking services jointly provided by Socitm Consulting and Socitm Insight have proved increasingly popular among public sector organisations. Indeed some 40% of all councils have used the services - many on annual basis.

Socitm Key Performance Indicators have become an industry standard, and are relied on increasingly in ICT service contracts and Best Value reviews. The data we have accumulated over successive benchmarking rounds is a unique resource.

Our benchmarking services in 2008 include:

  • Benchmarking the ICT service in London. The next London-wide study (Group 40) commences with a launch workshop at 10-3.15pm on the 22nd April 2008 at the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea
  • Benchmarking the ICT service across the UK (1). The next UK-wide study (Group 41) commences with a launch workshop at 10-3.15pm on 6th May 2008 at the Priory Rooms in central Birmingham
  • Benchmarking the ICT service in the South West. The next South West study (Group 42) commences with a launch workshop at 10-3.15pm on 8th May 2008 at Woodbury, East Devon
  • Benchmarking the ICT service - partnerships and outsourcing. The launch workshop for the next study (Group 43) is at at 10-3.15pm on 10th June 2008 at the Priory Rooms in central Birmingham
  • Benchmarking the ICT service across the UK (2). The second UK-wide study for 2008 (Group 44) commences with a launch workshop at 10-3.15pm on 10th September 2008 at the Priory Rooms in central Birmingham
  • Benchmarking the LEA (2008) for local education authority ICT services, both in-house and outsourced. The next national round (Group LEA4) begins with a launch workshop at 10-3.15pm on 23rd October 2008 at the Priory Rooms in central Birmingham
  • Benchmarking Groups of One - a customised service for individual organisations requiring an immediate comparative performance assessment against data about peer organisations held in our benchmarking database.

A similar programme and dates of launch will be followed in 2009.
