Robin Carsberg has more than 25 years experience working in senior management in the IT Industry for local government.  From 1988 to 2002 he was Head of Information and Communications Technology for Braintree District Council in Essex, where he managed the policy, strategy and delivery of the ICT needs of the Council as well as printing and graphic design. After completing a successful outsourcing process for Braintree District Council, he took early retirement to start his own company.

He has been a member of Socitm since it was founded and has held a number of positions for the society culminating in being elected their President in 2001/ 2002.  He has also been Socitm Conference Manager for the last five years.  Prior to this he was a member of the Information Age Government Group (SIAG) and represented them on the government's CLIAF (Central/ Local Information Age Forum).
