Ann Middleton works for the Metropolitan Police Service Specialist Crime Directorate and is currently responsible for internal communication. She has managed strategic programmes to modernise criminal justice and to implement an MPS-wide ICT infrastructure. Ann has also developed, and managed the implementation of, MPS information and communications systems strategies.
Ann joined the MPS as a management scientist and worked as an internal consultant on projects in a number of areas, including information systems strategy, information system feasibility studies and IT user requirements. Ann has also worked as a management consultant for Ernst & Young Management Consultants and Stoy Hayward Consulting where she undertook a variety of assignments, majoring on information systems strategies for organisations in both the public and private sectors.
Ann is a graduate of Brunel University and a Chartered IT Professional. She is a Member of the British Computer Society, the Association for Project Management, the Society of IT Managers and the Institute of Directors. Ann is also the Chair of the COMETS (the Metropolitan Police Sports and Social Association) and the MPS Association of Senior Female Police Staff. In her spare time Ann is a trustee of two charities and enjoys horseracing, walking and steam railways. She is a regular contributor to the MPS social club's Metwork magazine.
