Technology challenge for 2007
Our annual review of technology provides an overview of IT trends and insight into the dynamics of the IT industry. Continuing the redesign from last year, we have related nearly all our analysis to the components in the Planning for ICT framework and provided a printed executive summary and a detailed report available on CD-ROM (April 2007).

The Gartner view of 2007-2011
Each year Gartner provides its view of the major strategic trends in the IT industry worldwide. In this section we examine those statements and supporting material. From their work the project team identifies the key areas of focus for the IT function in 2007. This section also examines emerging technologies.
Summary of technology trends
In this section we summarise the more in depth coverage of the various strands of our Planning for ICT framework covered in the detail report available on CD-ROM.
We use our technology framework taken from Planning for ICT to structure a review of Gartner predictions, covering in turn the different layers of technology. We provide a summary of the topic, giving Gartner’s detailed views on each aspect. There are some minor modifications from the chart that appeared in the original report. These have been made to refine the model or reflect current trends. For example, Content management has been moved up a level and renamed Enterprise content management.
Subscribers can now have full access to report from the library on this website, plus all the associated spreadsheets of results.
