Ian Lowrie is Chief Executive of Adur District and Worthing Borough Council. Before taking up this unique joint post he worked for Adur DC for nearly a decade. Previously he worked for East Sussex County Council in a host of different roles and before that worked in industry for 7 years, for Ford and Bowaters. He is a graduate of the University of Sussex. Currently he is spearheading one of the most innovative shared services arrangements in the country which will create a single officer organisation to serve both Councils. |

Bruce Thomson has been involved in electronic communications and security for over thirty years and is currently IT Security and Compliance manager at the London Borough of Hillingdon. He has developed the use of computer forensics to support and aid the work of investigating officers. This has involved the use of the same tools and techniques used by law enforcement agencies around the world as well as attendance on the same training courses, and the incorporation of criminal evidence standards into this work.

Tony Ellis is Head of ICT at the London Borough of Brent, where he is responsible for the Brent Client Index project (linking nine council systems together). He is Chair of the London Connects Data Connects group and has spoken at a range of conferences on CDI in the public sector. He was previously Head of e-Government at the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. |

James Royds is an experienced manager and consultant in private and public sector organisations, including the Armed Forces. He has a MBA and a Diploma in Security. He is a Member of the Institute of Directors and a Fellow of both the Business Continuity and Chartered Management Institutes. He has 20+ years commercial experience, and has worked exclusively in the risk, security and continuity industry since 1996. |

Alastair Gilchrist is Director of Parking at Westminster City Council. During his time at Westminster he has been responsible for kick-starting the Council’s transformational programme and is currently focussed on delivering as many services as possible on the web as well as implementing a cashless society on the streets of London. He has held positions at Logica, One 2 One, and easyJet, where he became Head of e-commerce and partnerships and his responsibilities included running the largest dot-com website in Europe. |

Vicky Sargent is a director of marketing communications consultancy Boilerhouse Communications. Marketing consultant to Socitm and a range of other public sector organisations, she is also author of the recent Socitm Insight report, Better marketed: achieving success with take up of online services. |

Tim Dawes is Managing Director of Nineveh Consulting a company he founded in 1997. Tim has more than 30 years experience in IT, most of it in local government. His 'green' credentials go back almost as far and may explain why C P Bound, Tim's alto ego from DPM Diary the column he has written for Computer Weekly since 1991, now goes on holiday by train. No stranger to Socitm, Tim has is a long term regional executive member and has attended every national conference since 1987. |

Andrea Claire Smith has researched and written on environmental issues for 11 years. She has authored six books and numerous articles. For the past six years, she has also worked for The Observer/Ecover politician of the year, Caroline Lucas MEP. She is lead author of Socitm Insight's forthcoming report on green IT and has presented on the subject to several organisations. |

Paul Levy is director of CATS3000, a change and creativity company. He also is Director of Interaction at the Intranet Benchmarking Forum. Paul leads workshops all over the world and makes use of the arts, particularly theatre to help organisations break through to real and lasting change and innovation. His recent theatre piece, Win, Win, Win! Was described by The Stage as “A fine satire”. |

Martin Wright is Consulting Director of The Infrassistance Company, an independent IT strategy consultancy, which he co-founded in 2002. He is also a Founding Member and current President of the Corporate IT Forum. He has previously held senior positions at Lloyds Bowmaker, Savacentre and Sainsbury, and has delivered consulting assignments for many leading organisations. He delivers successful educational seminars on a wide range of IT topics, and represents the Corporate IT Forum on issues of the day. |

Les Worrall is Professor of Strategic Analysis at the Management Research Centre at the University of Wolverhampton Business School. He was instrumental in developing the Socitm Insight user satisfaction survey and has worked continuously to improve the survey since its inception in 1998/9. |

John Fox is Salford City Council’s web development manager, with responsibility for overall strategic development of the council’s websites and intranet. He has been with Salford for six years, prior to which he held similar positions at HBOS plc and Hampshire County Council and has a background in content management and user-centred website design. John is also a member of the Socitm Insight “Better Connected” project team.

His experience includes work with financial services, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and telecomms industries and has extensive experience working in central, local and regional government and government agencies.
