Conferences
Socitm's three day annual conference is held in October.
Programmes cover relevant and topical issues and attract speakers of extremely high quality from government; local authorities, universities, research organisations, consultancies, and private sector companies. The quality and seniority of delegates, primarily Socitm members and senior colleagues, is very high. Up to 450 delegates attend the Autumn conference.
There are a range of sponsorship opportunities available at each event, with packages starting as low as £500 and rising to several thousand pounds for a major sponsorship. There is also an exhibition attached to each event, with a range of spaces available priced on a per square metre basis. Further information is available in the
Events section of the website.
Exhibitors and sponsors are promoted through the display of logos at the event, through the conference publicity materials and delegate packs, and through this website. They also have the opportunity to mail material direct to Socitm members. Sponsors of promotional items like bags, pens, and umbrellas have the opportunity to attach their logo to something that lives on well after the event.
Interest in exhibiting at Socitm events has grown significantly: recent exhibitions have sold out months before the event.
The President's dinner
Each year Socitm's President hosts a formal dinner at the Stationers' Hall. It is an opportunity for senior members of the Society to get together with colleagues from the many organisations Socitm works with to deliver its programme. These include other professional associations, government departments and agencies, private sector partners, the media and other opinion-formers. The event is supported by one or more sponsors. If you are interested in sponsoring please email your details to

Research and publications
Socitm is well known for the quality of its research and publications. Among its output are four unique annual surveys:
IT Trends covers the use, management and funding of ICT in local authorities.
The Survey of Application Software details software in use in local authorities and fire services.
The Salary Survey covers ICT salaries and conditions within all types of local authorities.
Better Connected offers a comprehensive assessment of all local authority websites.
A range of other publications are produced by Socitm Insight. These are developed and written by practitioners for practitioners, and provide highly relevant advice, using extensive case study material, checklists and templates.
Sponsors can get involved with Socitm publications in a variety of ways. The simplest is to fund printing and distribution, but it may also be possible for sponsors to fund research or otherwise provide or resource publication content.
Regional events
Socitm's regions organise regular speaker events for members in their area. Sponsors of these events tend to: provide or fund a venue and catering; pay for printing and publicity material; and provide speakers on relevant topics.
If you are interested in sponsoring a regional event please contact the secretary of the relevant
region.
Learning and development
Socitm runs an extensive programme of learning and development opportunities. Most of these are designed for ICT managers and staff, but some have been developed specifically for elected members and senior local government officers grappling with the e-government agenda. Sponsors may wish to fund publications, training materials and delegate packs produced for Socitm Learning or, if relevant, to provide and present training material suitable for the Socitm constituency.
